President & CEO
As Chief Executive Officer, Joel Lessem is responsible for leading Firmex’s strategy and growth.
Joel has over 25 years’ experience in successfully accelerating revenues of growth businesses. Under his leadership, Firmex is rapidly becoming a standard for sharing large volumes of highly confidential and sensitive documents for corporate transactions, litigation and compliance.
Prior to co-founding Firmex in 2006, Joel drove the US growth of PointForce Inc., leading to the company’s acquisition in 2004. In 1999, Joel co-founded Crescent Logic, a software company that provided online equity research publishing tools for investment banks.
A frequent speaker at CEO forums and industry events, Joel studied History of Philosophy & Science and holds a Master of Arts from the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor of Arts from McGill University in Montreal.
CTO & Co-Founder
As Chief Technology Officer, Randy leads the Firmex development and quality assurance teams, guiding them on how to approach new designs and solve technical Challenges.
Randy has over 25 years of software development experience and proven success in architecting for growth. Prior to co-founding Firmex, he co-founded V51 Consulting Inc. where he designed Lexicon, a popular application development environment.
Randy attended University of Waterloo, University of Toronto, and Ryerson University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts studying Media Arts, Physics, and Math.
As Chief Marketing Officer, Mark leads Firmex’s marketing and communications strategy. Mark comes to Firmex from Adenyo, where he led the development of the global Marketing team through to the company`s sale to Motricity in 2011.
Prior to joining Adenyo, Mark was the Director of Global Marketing Operations at Research in Motion, where he drove the expansion of RIM’s global field marketing and training programs, led the direct marketing practice, and pioneered RIM’s web and social media analytics discipline.
Mark holds a degree in film studies from Queen’s University and a master of business administration with a concentration in strategic marketing from McMaster University.
As Chief Financial Officer, Lori leads Firmex’s financial, operational and investment strategies. Lori comes to Firmex from MedAvail Technologies Inc, where she was head of finance for seven years through several rounds of private equity raises, new market launches, corporate growth and commercialization. Prior to MedAvail, Lori was Director of Finance for seven years at Autoliv Electronics, a contract manufacturer in the automotive industry.
Lori has over 25 years of experience in both private, public and multinational corporations in the technology, automotive and banking sectors with a focus on enterprise value creation and growth strategies, through establishing effective internal and external partnerships at all levels.
Lori has a Bachelor of Business Administration from St. Francis Xavier University and began her career with E&Y earning her CA/CPA designation.
VP of Customer Operations and Growth
As the VP of Customer Operations and Growth, Kyle Bardsley is responsible customer retention, growth, and service. He joined Firmex in 2010, helping to build and lead its Account Management team.
He has continued his focus on post-sales customer service by streamlining Firmex’s Customer Success and Client Services teams so they can continue to deliver award-winning support.
Prior to joining Firmex, Kyle spent six years running his own business as a third party distributor for a major Canadian cable operator, winning top sales awards nationwide. Kyle is a graduate of Durham College for Business, Human Resources, and Marketing.
Director of Human Resources
As the Director of Human Resources, Sarah Fulton leads Firmex’s recruiting, retention, and employee relations.
She joined Firmex in 2014 and has since played a central role in fostering company culture, which prides itself on the core values of humour, collaboration, respect and success of all employees.
As a leader in the development and growth of Firmex, she also takes an active role in management coaching and employee engagement initiatives. Sarah attended Western University, where she completed a BA in Sociology.
