At Firmex we are proud to announce significant enhancements on our virtual data room technology platform. The following is an extract of the press release made public today:
Firmex has released a new architecture that exponentially increases the speed in which users can review large volumes of documents. “Since we do not charge for data or documents stored, our clients have increasingly been using Firmex for very large transactions. These transactions can run 10,000 to 100,000 document folders, each containing sets of documents”.
While this is not common on your average M&A transaction, if you’re restructuring asset-backed loan portfolios, running a multi-billion deal, sharing clinical study findings, or reviewing litigation documents, sharing large volumes of documents is not uncommon” says Randy Rosenberg, Firmex CTO. With this highly efficient technology, Firmex can accommodate our increasing roster of large projects. “Our policy of unlimited use and cost certainty for our clients forces us to develop high-speed and efficient technology. The combination of drag & drop functionality and the ability to move thousands of documents rapidly to and from the data room and the speed enhancements for large transactions saves our clients considerable time and money when managing transactions. They are all aligned with our focus on speed and ease-of-use as key development objectives” says Rosenberg.

Legal practice management software is a must-have for most law offices. It streamlines the process of handling and managing a case from start to finish. Law case management systems allow busy attorneys to keep track of contacts, documents, and calendaring, among other things, for each case that is added to the system; many offer time tracking and billing features as well.
For most law practices, purchasing practice management software that is well-suited for the size and specific practice areas of the firm is a good investment that saves time and money in the long run.
One decision lawyers must make when choosing legal practice management software is whether to purchase a web-based law practice management system or a traditional desktop system that is installed and housed on the law firm’s server. Once you’ve decided which type of platform you intend to use, you can then narrow down your choices based on the specific features offered by a particular system.

A due diligence checklist may contain thousands of documents, with new documents being uploaded daily. So how do your customers keep track of their due diligence activities?
Similar to an Inbox in email, Firmex marks each user’s documents as new, read or unread. Every document that is uploaded to a checklist receives a document flag.
- An exclamation point next to the document indicates that the document is new to the user .
- An unopened envelope next to the document indicates that the document hasn't been read by the user .
- An opened envelope indicates that the user has read the document.

A few weeks ago, I posted about the importance of listening – and what a great response, so thank you!
Listening has led to a couple of important improvements the last few months and more are in the works.
Today, we’re pleased to announce a new way to have your voice heard – by joining the Firmex Users First Community. Members of the Users First Community have the opportunity to try out new features before they are generally available to other Firmex customers. We have regular webcasts and feedback sessions to talk about upcoming developments.
The time investment is minimal -- less than 90 minutes over a few weeks -- and you can opt-out of participating for a specific release when you don’t have the time.
Your feedback is important to us. If you're interested in being an early adopter for one of our upcoming releases, the Firmex Users First Community is growing and we'd love to have you be a part. Your time is valuable so we promise to make good use of it.
Even if the Firmex Users First Community is not for you, please continue to send your comments, ideas and feedback to us. There is a good chance you’ll see your suggestion in an upcoming release! We’d love to hear from you.
